DRIVER EDUCATION

Driver Education is offered for both teens and adults, as well as potential new instructors.

Teen Driver Education

This course is taken prior to starting Behind the Wheel Training and is the classroom portion in the process of obtaining your permit.  The 30 hour classroom course consists of lectures, discussion, quizzes, videos, tests and field observations of simple mechanics of an automobile.  This course meets all of the guidelines set forth by the California Department of Motor Vehicles.  Upon completion of the course students will receive a California Department of Motor Vehicles certificate of completion, form OL237, and will then be eligible to take the written portion of the test.

Adult Brush-Up

This course is geared specifically for adults in order to help them pass their (written) Learner's Permit Test.  The course consists of multiple quizzes and tests.  It will be structured to each individual students needs.  There is no certificate required by the California Department of Motor Vehicles, however certificates of completion (issued by A1 Driving School) may be issued to insurance companies for proof of completion.

Instructor Driver Education

The California Department of Motor Vehicles requires, in order to become a licensed Driving Instructor, an individual to complete a 40 hour classroom course.  This course consists of understanding the laws of the California Vehicle Code, as well as lectures, discussions, quizzes, videos, tests and field observations of simple mechanics of an automobile.  To inquire about becoming an instructor (independent or with A1 Driving School), please contact us at (916) 443-7483 or email a resume to employment@a1drivingschool.
